I remember...
I remember so well. The 122mm rockets came thundering in about 0400. The final count was over 50. MAG-12's bomb dump went up like an atomic bomb. As I reached VMFA-314's Operations hooch, I heard the news about Doc Lewis (our Flight Surgeon). His bunker took a direct hit, and he was killed instantly. Doc Lewis was an outstanding person. I will never forget that morning, or Doc Lewis. Semper Fi. Steve Dennstedt Sgt USMC (Operations Chief, VMFA-314) Chu Lai, RVN (1967-1968) Vice President
